recently someone told me i was a bird always wanting to fly away...but the interesting thing about birds is, yes, they do fly away but they always come home. whether it be a season or a day they find home. many creative spirits are driven by the direction of the wind or like me blatant wanderlust. i have that undying desire to be out in the world seeing all of it or as much as time and life will allow. i envision myself as an owl, mid flight taking off to wherever it is i am supposed to go...sometime i'm not sure of where that is until i arrive. what kind of bird are you?

i've been writing a lot lately. i believe this has created an open window for my other creativity to come into. i write and a painting appears. i write and a new quilt design appears. i write and the technical problem i was working on resolves itself. i see that in order to operate one side of my brain well i have to engage and seduce the other. this is a true love affair! i have what i like to call brain ambidextarity. i use both sides of my brain equally and it's a pleasure to flop back and forth. most people choose and in their limited choices they want me to choose also. i will continue to utilize all gifts given to me and the parts of my brain that let me in to expand and grow!
